How to use the calculator

  1. Enter costs for one item. Include yarn consumed, accessories, packaging and the appropriate share of other expenses.
  2. Enter working hours and an hourly rate of your choice. Your working pay is a cost; business profit is calculated afterwards. Replace all example values as needed.
  3. Enter fixed transaction fees, percentage selling fees and your target margin. Prices always round up so rounding does not drop the price below the calculated target.

How is it calculated?

Total costs = yarn + accessories + packaging + other costs + (hours × hourly pay) + fixed transaction fees. Unrounded price = total costs ÷ [1 − (selling fee % + margin %) ÷ 100]. Profit = selling price − total costs − percentage selling fees.

Margin differs from markup: IDR 100,000 in costs with a 25% margin and no selling fees requires about IDR 133,334, not IDR 125,000. Results cover only the costs you enter; taxes, discounts and platform fee rules are not calculated automatically. Consider your product and market when setting the final price.
